Software Engineer in Test

LeverageTek is actively seeking a Senior Software Developer Engineer in Test (SDET) for a permanent position with its Ottawa based customer. Work Location Remote Security Requirement Must be eligible for a Government of Canada Secret Level II Clearance. Key Tasks Run and Maintain Implement test strategies and test cases using relevant testing methods to validate products and solutions so that they meet fit-for-purpose requirements Create automated tests for functional/GUI validation Establish requirements, based on experience, and recommend the selection of test automation tools Review test cases and test results, ensuring that defects are recorded and categorized accurately Analyze the likely cause of, and trends in, issues highlighted during testing to identify problem areas, reduce errors and to suggest further improvements in the software development and delivery cycle Awareness of project schedule and priorities so that tasks assigned are addressed in order of agreed priority Develop, enhance, and maintain tools/applications for a test automation framework supporting automated functional testing using a combination of off the shelf and custom-built systems Define processes and standards for implementing test automation System Development/Projects Support Participate in ongoing internal team initiatives and projects to maintain and enhance the test automation suite as required Participate in requirements gathering, analysis and development of design Provide thorough unit, functional and system testing, documenting all results and communicating results to management and team member Assist in implementation and deployment of applications for Payments Canada Member Financial Institutions Participate in requirements gathering, analysis and development of design specifications Provide thorough unit, functional and system testing, documenting all results and communicating results to management and team members Key Qualifications Min 5 year Experience in a software developer engineer and test (SDET) role or a development role with ownership over QA and test automation Experience in a SDET or similar capacity implementing test automation tech developing test automation plans and writing test automation use cases and scripts Experience with written test automation plans focused on API and front end (Frameworks such as (Angular or React) Qualifications Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with at least one object-oriented language (JavaScript, C#, Ruby, Python, Perl, Java) and maintaining code/scripts in support of automation Basic knowledge of CI/CD systems like Jenkins Database experience with any of the following: PostgreSql, MySql, Oracle Assets Post-secondary degree or diploma in computer science, software engineering, IT, or related field or a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in using technologies to support development and/or continuous integration About LeverageTek IT Solutions Thank you for taking the time to apply Since our company’s inception in March 2003, LeverageTek IT Solutions has worked resolutely to become one of the industry’s most recognized and trusted suppliers of technology staffing and business consulting services.
