Job Description
Position : District Manager - Ottawa Job type: Permanent full-time, on-site Location : Ottawa, Eastern Ontario The role of the District Manager - Ottawa is to carry out the vision, mission, plans and initiatives as set out by the Senior Management Team to achieve the goals and objectives of ASCO’s strategic plan in the Eastern Ontario geographic area. He / She is responsible for providing the overall leadership, motivation, and management of the business development, estimating, project delivery and general administration activities of the regional district’s operations necessary to sustain the company's growth and profitability objectives for all projects undertaken by ASCO Some of the District Managers’ responsibilities include: Sit on the Senior Leadership Team and actively participate in the development, implementation and carrying out of the company’s strategic plan Build, lead and deploy project and support teams within the district ensuring having the right people in the right seat Build and manage relationships with business partners, team members and customers Lead business development activities within the district Assist the Project Team in resolving issues with clients, sub-trades and consultants Ensuring the safe delivery of quality projects in a consistent manner and exceeding Client expectations Provide leadership, guidance and strategic direction to the Project Team Manage the district’s operation budget, exceed revenue and profitability targets of the district Ensure that the company’s activities are executed safely in accordance with OHSA regulations, in a fair and ethical manner and respecting all laws, regulation and industry standards. The preferred candidate will: Have at least fifteen (15) years of experience in the Canadian Construction Industry preferably in a Senior Management position with a general contracting company, or in a senior role of Operations Manager, Construction Manager, Project Manager or Construction Estimator Hold a professional engineering (P. Eng), a Gold Seal Certificate (GSC), or Project Management Certificate (PMP) Be a dynamic individual, who is 100% quality and customer service orien ted, with the ability and skills to mold and motivate a team of dedicated operations employees Have excellent knowledge of the greater Ottawa construction market and a well established network of business partners, clientele and construction professionals. Have direct project management or site supervision of large Institutional, Commercial, Industrial and/or Water/Wastewater construction projects valued between $10million and $100 million Demonstrate superior leadership, motivational and mentoring skills Have strong management, negotiation and problem-solving skills Have excellent verbal and written communication skill s in English (mandatory) and in French (prefe rred) Be service and results-oriented Be able to read, understand and interpret complex construction contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedules Be eligible for security clearances and possess a valid driver’s license Have superior working knowledge of MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
