Senior IT Cloud Architect - specialized Cloud AWS (Contract Position) Number of Positions: 2 Filled: 0 Duration: 6 months Location: Toronto, Ottawa, ON, CA, or Montreal PQ ON Must be eligible to work in Canada Hybrid position, 3d/w onsite mandatory, no exceptions This is a technology/infrastructure/cloud Architects, not solutions architect- someone who completely understands and can design the whole cloud solution. Must have skills: A bachelor’s degree in technology or related field, or equivalent experience. 5 years' experience designing, deploying, and supporting cloud-based IT solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP). On-premises Private Cloud Extensive experience in implementing foundational cloud services such as networking, security, and identity access management. Cloud-related certifications, such as AWS Solutions Architect or Google Cloud Engineer, are a plus. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated delivery systems (e.g., GitHub Actions). Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using cloud formation or terraform. Strong understanding of security best practices and their impact on business. 10 years of experience in information technology. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams. Leadership qualities and a proactive, organized approach. Bilingualism (English/French) is required for candidates based in Quebec. Roles and Responsibilities Establish and maintain governance and compliance standards and policies. Lead the execution of architecture processes. Develop and update architecture models, roadmaps, and strategies. Conduct risk and cost analysis, providing build vs. buy strategies and recommendations. Assess the current IT landscape to identify deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement. Contribute to defining and evolving IT architecture in line with long-term business strategies, security requirements, and market developments. Advocate for and promote the architecture vision across IT and business teams. Lead research on new technologies and approaches for potential adoption. Facilitate the creation and adoption of architecture principles to guide decision-making. Work with project teams to align projects with enterprise architecture. Collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure alignment between architecture and infrastructure needs.
