Job Description
JOB SUMMARY Reporting to the Sr. Lead Regulatory Midstream Operations, the Regulatory and Environment Coordinator is seconded to the Corporate Affairs, Regulatory & Environment (CARE) team responsible for supporting project development of a large-scale bulk liquids project. Responsibilities include providing guidance related to new and existing approvals in the regulatory and environment disciplines. This role also entails management of regulatory and environmental commitments, approvals, permits, stewardship, constraints, and mitigation of project impacts through all phases of project execution to completion. PRIMARY DUTIES • Support development of regulatory new and amendments to regulatory applications and approvals • Support compliance tracking on existing regulatory approvals and permits • Support environmental and regulatory reporting during project phases prior to handover to operations • Review and provide advice on compliance with federal, provincial (British Columbia) and municipal regulations • Ongoing coordination of information requests from Indigenous nations and stakeholders on regulatory and environment deliverables through engagement with project subject matter experts(SMEs) • Provide oversight on compliance reporting to Project Management Team (PMT) and Construction Management Team (CMT) • Provide guidance to support project-specific regulatory and environmental management plan execution • Support development of project-specific regulatory and environmental deliverables• Support internal compliance assurance plans, as required • Support creation of local project related regulatory and environmental work plans, report progress to the PMT and CMT to meet goals/targets, actively participate with PMT, CMT and SMEs to implement corrective actions as required • Work and collaborate with multidisciplinary and interdepartmental teams to achieve regulatory and environment project commitments and goals. • Participate, as needed, in industry working committees to identify and manage regulatory changes, challenges and solutions • Maintain awareness of environmental risks to the project; updating existing processes, procedures, practices and guides at appropriate frequencies and provide necessary training to project personnel, include contract personnel. QUALIFICATIONS • Professional registration as an Engineer, Geologist, Project Management Professional, Professional Forester, Professional Biologist or other relevant professional association preferred. EDUCATION • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, Biology, Environmental Science or other relevant technical, or scientific discipline is required. EXPERIENCE • 10 years experience in the regulatory and environmental field • 5 years in the oil and gas industry is preferred • Experience working as part of a project or construction management team is required.
