Project / Role Context We are seeking a skilled Facilities Engineer to oversee and manage the expansion of our client's pharmaceutical facility, including all activities related to construction and building maintenance. This role requires a proactive individual who can ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities: Regularly review project scope, timelines, and milestones to ensure that facility expansion initiatives remain on track. Liaise with construction teams, architects, equipment suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure that project specifications are met. Align schedules across all teams (construction, electrical, HVAC, etc.) and manage task dependencies to prevent delays. Review and manage the project budget, ensuring costs remain within approved limits. Ensure that all design and construction activities adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency. Coordinate internal audits and external regulatory inspections (Health Canada, FDA) to ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulations. Maintain detailed documentation, including design specifications, validation reports, and as-built drawings, ensuring traceability and compliance. Conduct regular site walkthroughs with contractors to monitor progress and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards. Review and approve technical designs for HVAC systems, cleanroom layouts, water and waste systems, and more to ensure compliance with industry standards. Coordinate the integration of pharmaceutical equipment (e.g., autoclaves, filtration systems, reactors) into the facility layout to optimize operational efficiency. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; P.Eng designation would be an asset. Experience in facilities management, particularly within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry. Strong knowledge of GMP regulations and compliance standards. Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams. Proficiency in relevant software tools. Why Join Us?
