Environmental Manager

Our client, a mining and exploration company based in Canada, is looking to hire an Environmental and Sustainability General Manager to join their team. Visits to Quebec, Canada will be occasionally required. Qualifications: - 15 years of experience in dealing with permitting, approvals for natural resource projects - Qualified engineer or environmental scientist - Ideally with experience in Quebec and/or Newfoundland Labrador - Excellent project management skills to manage and take accountability dozens of environment studies and surveys - High emotional intelligence, listening and communication skills to engage with local stakeholders - Passionate about sustainable development - Comfortable engaging and debating technical issues with the engineering team - Self-reliant, and able to build a high performing environmental and sustainability team in Quebec - Can take on broad leadership responsibilities and interact with Board and Canadian Government and Community Leaders Responsibilities: - Accountable for planning and delivering all environmental , access and permits required to achieve decision to mine - Define and deliver the long-term sustainability and rehabilitation plan for the Company's Project - Promote a pragmatic environmental and sustainability culture based on integrity and passion - Build and manage the E&S team - Engage and manager key relationships with government institutions and community leaders
