Job Description
Reporting to the IT Systems Specialist, this role is responsible for deliverables and tasks assigned on projects related to Corporate projects. They will be involved in technical planning, design, installation, and integration of all systems during IT and Operations project work. Essential functions: Responsible for the completion of deliverables and tasks related to corporate projects to ensure successful project outcomes within specified parameters; Act as the point of contact with outside vendors contracted on projects; Understand requirements from corporate employees, tenants, and clients; Recommend solutions, and develop specifications to implement new project requirements; Perform analysis, configuration, testing, and implementation of project changes related to the Wide Area Network (WAN), Local Area Network (LAN), Enterprise Firewalls/Routers/Switches and Remote Access Service (RAS). Perform analysis, configuration, testing, and implementation of changes to Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Exchange, and SQL in Windows Server and Cloud Environments; Develop documentation of the technical environments the project is implementing and create or update operational procedures. Review technical drawings, specifications, shop drawings, operation and maintenance manuals and catalog cut sheets; Provide support and coordination of system shutdowns and interruptions; Provide technical support to design consultants, project managers and maintenance teams; Provide technical support in planning facility changes and assist in IT infrastructure planning for the corporate campus; Perform site inspections and provide deficiency lists as needed; Support hardware and software purchases, including licensing and inventory, in accordance with the overall IT process / policies; Coordinate input from other members of the IT team to support project deliverables; Conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of all infrastructure procurement and development efforts; Participate in the development of warranty and maintenance agreements and requirements; Escalate project issues and risks to the Information Technology Systems Specialist; Participation in project team meetings; and Support the IT initiatives as instructed by the Information Technology Systems Specialist. The successful candidate will have strong leadership and motivational skills. They have experience working on complex technical projects. The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment. They will possess excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and time management skills. The successful candidate will exhibit good project planning skills. They can read technical drawings. They must demonstrate a willingness to continually upgrade their knowledge and skills. The successful candidate will be able to interact professionally with staff, clients, and consultants. They must be able to work as a team member yet work independently on problems as they arise. These abilities and a professional, positive attitude will ensure success in building positive working relationships internally and externally and interact well in a team environment. Qualifications for this position include: College diploma in Computer Technology, Computer Science or in a related discipline OR a combination of relevant education and a minimum of two (2) years’ related experience; Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills; Strong technical background with a solid understanding of IT Infrastructure related technologies; Adaptable and flexible to perform other duties as assigned and be able to quickly adjust to new challenges and priorities; Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook Track record of following through on commitments and deliver the successful completion of projects and tasks; and Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. The following will be considered as assets: University degree in Computer Sciences PMP (Project Management Professional) certification; ITIL Service Operations (ITIL) certification Project Management experience; and Bilingualism (English and French). Possession of a Class G drivers' license (province of Ontario or Québec equivalent) along with a driver's abstract (issued within the last month) and successfully complete a security clearance check for an Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC).
