Job Description
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee new build and tenant improvement projects for our clients general contracting firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget. Package: $120-140k base, competitive benefits and strong project backlog. This role is based in Downtown Vancouver. Key Responsibilities: Project Planning and Development: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget. Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives and requirements. Team Leadership: Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers. Foster a collaborative environment, promoting communication and teamwork. Budget and Resource Management: Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and efficient resource allocation. Monitor project expenses and implement corrective actions as needed. Scheduling and Coordination: Create and maintain detailed project schedules, tracking progress and adjusting timelines as necessary. Ensure that all project milestones are met and that resources are effectively utilized. Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications. Conduct regular site inspections and coordinate with the quality assurance team. Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Address issues promptly to minimize impact on project delivery. Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships throughout the project lifecycle. Provide regular updates on project status, addressing any concerns or questions. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports. Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and stakeholders. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. 5 years of experience in project management within the construction industry, specifically with new build and tenant improvement projects. Strong knowledge of construction processes, contract management, and industry regulations. Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Procore). Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team collaboration and motivation. PMP certification or equivalent is a plus.
