Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365-all within 90 seconds.
Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.2B from the world's top investors-including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock-and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.

About the role
At Rippling, we're on a mission to launch a truly different type of product that will dramatically alter how companies handle variable compensation. This is a rare opportunity to take a 0 to 1 product from concept to reality in a space desperate for change. You'll be at the forefront of creating something entirely new for Rippling, transforming outdated processes into a streamlined, automated solution.
Today, over half of companies still manage their variable compensation programs through Excel spreadsheets and manual processes, leading to countless hours spent on complex calculations, frequent errors, and limited visibility for employees. Even large organizations with 1000+ sales representatives often resort to spreadsheets for managing millions in commissions, creating significant operational overhead and compliance risks.
The Variable Pay product will reshape how companies manage and automate their variable compensation programs. This product will enable organizations to streamline their commission calculations, bonus distributions, and other variable payment structures through automated data retrieval, sophisticated calculations, and seamless payroll integration. The market opportunity is substantial as many point solutions are singularly focused on sales organizations under 100 employees, leaving a vast unaddressed market of both smaller and larger organizations struggling with manual processes for managing these types of programs in and out of the sales department.
As the Product Lead for Variable Pay, you will orchestrate the launch of this strategic new product from the ground up, working across the entire Rippling organization. You'll collaborate deeply with engineering teams to build robust calculation engines, with designers to craft intuitive interfaces, with marketing to develop compelling positioning, with sales to create effective go-to-market strategies, and with customer success to ensure the product can be effectively implemented and supported. Your challenge is to take intricate calculations, diverse stakeholder requirements, and elaborate offline processes and develop them into an intuitive solution that anyone can use with confidence.
Your stakeholders will range from internal Rippling teams building and supporting the product to external users including sales operations professionals managing complex commission structures, HR leaders administering bonus programs, and finance teams overseeing variable compensation budgets. Your challenge will be to deeply understand each stakeholder's needs and transform complex variable compensation processes into intuitive product experiences that any user can confidently set up and manage.
The impact of this role is significant. By automating and simplifying variable pay, you'll help organizations save time, minimize disputes, and streamline payouts. That's especially the case if your solution can effectively leverage Rippling's unique advantages in this space: comprehensive knowledge of a customer's organization, access to data across Rippling and external sources, payroll integration, and robust approvals and permissioning. If you're passionate about building from scratch and excel at making the complex simple, this role is for you.
