Cost Analyst

Robert Half is currently working with a dynamic client seeking a Cost Analyst. This critical Cost Analyst role is responsible for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost and margin analysis. This role will also establish customer pricing by working closely with the sales teams and senior financial management team. If you are a talented Cost Analyst looking for a position with a company experiencing substantial growth, this may be the role for you.Your responsibilities in this role- Analyze projects and data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor usage, waste- Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings- Prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs and analyze manufacturing costs- Review changes in goods or services provided in order to determine what effect it has on the cost- Perform variance analysis such as Purchase Price to Cost variance, cost revaluation, Invoice to PO price variances and work order variances- Conduct physical inventories and monitor the cycle count program- Examine the data collected and log a detailed record of the results- Help prepare general ledgers and assist in audits- Provide management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services- Implement standardized costing methodology for all domestic plants- Create and manage the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization- Approximate costs for new and proposed products- Create internal cost audits- Follow Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements- Excellent attention to detail- Aptitude for analyzing financial data and generating accurate reports in a timely manner- Bachelors degree in accounting or related field- Understanding of cost management methodologies, activities, and cost pools based on direct and indirect cost rates- 2 years of Cost Accounting work experience- High analytical and extremely detailed- Strong understanding of organizational accounting conceptsRobert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
