Our Educational client is looking for a Knowledge Mobilization Specialist (University, Research Administration)Length: 6 months contract Location: Canada (Remote - MST) Hours of Work: 35 hours per week ROLE MANDATE: The Knowledge Mobilization Specialist champions a research culture that jointly prioritizes excellence in discovery alongside knowledge mobilization, uptake, implementation, and impact. They will help build capacity for research development (from idea to impact) and research reach by partnering with, training, and empowering researchers and their teams to be deliberate and strategic with mobilizing outcomes within and beyond the academy and facilitating research impact. The Specialist reports to the Manager, Research Development and works closely with the other members of the Research Development team to deliver value-add, high quality support to the research community (with researchers being the focal group here). The workflow of the Specialist also involves liaising with other Research Office team members and with those in other units including University Relations, Integrated Planning, and Library and Scholarly Services. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but not limited to):The Knowledge Mobilization Specialist's primary responsibility is to help academic researchers maximize research impact by building culture, capacity, and connections for knowledge mobilization. They will serve as a clear point of contact for researchers and a proactive internal partner across units.Projects and Capacity Building (45%): project management of portfolio relevant initiatives that are timebound within the period of the role. But also offer professional learning opportunities and enable access to expertise, tools, and resources to build knowledge mobilization capacity, as well as drive the inclusion of high-quality data related to research impact and media engagement content within research information management systemResearch Impact Planning (25%): connect and collaborate with researchers during project ideation to identify appropriate outcomes and impact goals and to develop actional knowledge mobilization plans that extend research reach and facilitate research impact. Build individual and institutional impact literacyKnowledge Mobilization Advising (30%): provide researchers with project and activity specific guidance throughout the research lifecycle, including during the development of research funding applications. Also, assist researchers navigate the knowledge mobilization and research development ecosystems and across the Canadian research landscape QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum undergraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies, English) with complementary professional experienceSubject matter expertise in areas related to knowledge engagement, integrated knowledge mobilization, uptake, and implementation for academic and public audiencesExperience working in the Canadian university ecosystem, particular in spaces where they supported researchers and research projectsMinimum 3 years experience (5 years experience highly preferred) in research administration, knowledge mobilization, and/or communications within a higher education settingKnowledge and experience with Tri-Agency (SSHRC, NSERC, and CIHR) grant programs, with a focus on requirements, challenges, and opportunities for knowledge mobilizationExceptional oral communication skills and practiced in developing and delivering engaging training sessions and consultationsExcellent written communication skills and experienced in creating cogent and compelling resources and reportsSuperior interpersonal skills, capacity to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with researchers, and ability to provide critical and formative feedbackTakes initiative to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with researchers and members of other service units to create a community of practiceCapacity to work both independently and collaboratively while managing and adjusting a workflow with multiple demands and deadlinesExcels in working within a distributed team environment and takes initiative to collaborate and connect in a near virtual workplaceExperience in digital mobilization platforms, project management, open data, data analytics, and knowledge of research information management systems an asset URGENT: Please read the job description above.
