Sr. Accountant

Our Manufacturing client in the Guelph area is seeking a Senior Accountant for a short-term contract. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accounting operations involving product pricing, costing, variance analysis, bank reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. This role requires adherence to high-quality standards in accounting and a keen understanding of the complexities associated with manufacturing costs. This opportunity is 4 days/week onsite. Responsibilities:Assist in the ongoing analysis of process constraints, target costing projects, margin analysis, and tracing costs back to underlying activities.Develop and implement cost-effective solutions for financial systems, policies and processes in line with accounting standards.Perform month-end closings, prepare monthly financial statements, conduct bank reconciliations, and oversee internal controls for regulatory compliance.Conduct quantitative analysis of costs, production metrics, and inventory valuation.Prepare budgets, forecasts, and product line financials, analyze variances, and identify trends.Provide detailed financial and cost analysis and prepare necessary reports to facilitate decision-making.Handle regular and accurate bank reconciliation activities to ensure all transactions are recorded correctly.Help in maintaining cost modules and Product Cost Controlling (CO-PC) initiatives.Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; ACCA/CPA qualification or equivalent is preferred.A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role within the manufacturing sector.Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost accounting principles.Proficient in MS Office Suite, SAP or other similar ERP system, and data management systems.Excellent analytical, decision-making and management abilities.Extensive experience in bank reconciliation procedures.Excellent communication skills, both oral and written in order to interact effectively with management, auditors, and vendors.Strong attention to detail, confidentiality and professionalism.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
