Senior Accountant

Our client in Brantford is seeking a Senior Accountant to assist with year-end close, tax provisions and returns. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with tax provisions, and financial review. The work schedule will involve spending two days onsite, with varying work hours depending on the volume of tasks. IE: part-time hours in December, full-time hours in January, and so forth. Additionally, some weekend availability will be necessary during January to facilitate year-end closing processes.Job Responsibilities:Performing year-end close procedures, including journal entries, adjustments and analyses.Preparing and filing tax provisions and returns.Collaborating with the rest of the accounting team, ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met.Utilizing MS Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.) to perform accounting tasks.The ability to absorb information quickly, featuring a sharp attention to detail.Solid expertise in the use of MS Excel; pivot tables and vlookups.Flexibility to accommodate the intense work schedule during January, including the possibility of working weekends.
