About the Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants (WSIG) Program
Today we are delivering a suite of transformational infrastructure projects that will enhance the lives of our community, funded by the NSW Government Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants (WSIG) Program.
The Transformational Projects team is focused on delivering seven major projects as part of the WSIG program. This is an exciting time to join Council as we continue to deliver these once-in-a-lifetime projects and prepare our great city for the future.

About the opportunity
We are looking for a motivated individual to join our Transformational Projects team on a term contract, full-time basis for up to 12 months.
Your key focus is working on the WSIG Transformational Projects. You will be responsible for the implementation and activation of all communications and engagement within Council, to the community and stakeholders on these important projects.
The ideal candidate will lead, define and develop communication requirements for the Transformational Program unit and each of the WSIG projects.
A sound knowledge of Blacktown City Council and our Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants program is highly desirable. Previous experience working in a government agency or similar organisation is favourable.
Qualifications and experience
Essential:

Tertiary qualification (minimum diploma) in communications, public relations, journalism or marketing
Solid experience in communications or relevant
Current class C driver's licence.

Desirable:

Previous experience in managing challenging stakeholder issues
Experience working in a fast-paced environment delivering high-quality work to tight timeframes
International Association of Public Participation (IAP2) or equivalent training in community engagement
Knowledge of political sensitivity in representation of the program and projects to elected representatives and community. Local government or NSW government experience is highly desirable
Experience working with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities.

Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

Entry level for this position starts at $1,622.73 per week
35-hour working week
Opportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangement
