Job Description
Our client is one of the UK's leading renewable energy specialists, helping reduce carbon footprints and cut costs for major brands across various industries. They are expanding and looking for a talented Estimator to join their team in Uddingston. If you're passionate about renewable energy and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this role could be for you.
Role Overview
As an Estimator, you will work closely with the Commercial Manager, taking the lead on estimating for projects ranging from individual rooftop solar installations to large-scale infrastructure and construction renewables projects.
Key Responsibilities
Review tenders to understand project scope and timelines.
Prepare detailed cost estimates (BoQ) and compelling tender submissions, including programmes of work, risk registers, and tender qualifications.
Create tender packs for subcontractors, covering groundworks and electrical installations.
Maintain relevant project trackers.
Work with in-house design, procurement, and delivery teams.
Attend site visits to better understand client requirements.
What You'll Need
A qualification in quantity surveying, civil engineering, or construction management.
Experience in estimation within construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, or M&E sectors.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to understand client needs and develop clear, coherent bids.
Good understanding of contracts and commercial risk.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
Knowledge of construction and M&E standards.
Experience in the renewable energy sector and knowledge of solar PV design software is a bonus.
