Job Description
On-Site Contracts Engineer – Construction Projects (HVAC)
£40K - £45K DOE
We are currently seeking an experienced On-Site Contracts Engineer to oversee the installation of mechanical and electrical systems across various construction projects.
Key Responsibilities for Contract Engineer:
- Serve as the primary contact for clients and sub-contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage all projects in accordance with CDM (Construction Design and Management) Regulations, acting as either Principal Contractor or Sub-Contractor as required.
- Develop and implement a detailed project programme of works, ensuring that all key milestones are achieved.
- Maximise profitability through efficient project management and resource allocation.
- Produce necessary documentation to comply with CDM Regulations.
- Order equipment, sub-contract services, and labour in line with project requirements.
- Conduct **health and safety audits** and ensure compliance with safety standards on-site.
- Lead site inductions for internal teams and external operatives to ensure safety and project awareness.
Required Skills and Experience for Contract Engineer:
- Proven experience in project and/or contract management within the construction industry.
- A strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles.
- Proficiency in IT systems and project management tools.
- Possession of an SMSTS certificate (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) or an equivalent qualification.
- Holding a Skill card at Project Manager level.
- A valid full UK driving licence.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Additional Requirements for Contract Engineer:
- The role will require travel to various sites across the UK, with some projects requiring out-of-hours work or overnight stays depending on the location and scope of the project.
