Job: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Boyd Recruitment are currently working alongside an M&E Contractor who are looking to recruit a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Glasgow
Our client are well-reputed within the Scottish construction industry and are recruiting for a key area of their business. The successful candidate will play an important role in overseeing key projects throughout Scotland.
Due to continues growth, they are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join to work on a variety of commercial, education, healthcare and residential projects. Experience of healthcare projects would be highly advantageous
Dependant on experience, you can expect a competitive base salary, vehicle or car allowance, phone, laptop, bonus & pension.
The Job
The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will play an integral part of the Design team in overcoming the unique challenges presented by each project and working closely with clients to bring their vision to life, within the given constraints.
You will provide specialist consultancy input on projects across a wide range of sectors including Education, Leisure, Commercial and Health Sectors (+ more)
You will undertake detailed mechanical building services engineering design and analysis
You will define and translate clients’ needs into designs for buildings, facilities, and services (ventilation, cooling and air conditioning, heating systems and more) - all with sustainability at the forefront of the design.
you will have the chance to work on a variety of high-profile complex projects, and operate across multiple sectors - such as commercial, residential as well as mixed use, hotel, retail and healthcare. You will be alongside some of the best engineers as well as excellent progression and development opportunities towards even more senior roles in the coming years.
The Candidate
The Successful candidate will have:
Accredited with MEng degree level or equivalent in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
5+ years working in a Consultancy
Able to design and deliver engineering solutions on medium/large complex projects
Excellent knowledge of the relevant design standards, legislation, best practice, and emerging technology
Able to understand the balance of engineering priorities on differing projects
You will be:
You have an appreciation for the core elements of mechanical building services engineering and crucially, have a love for creative and intuitive design
You are organised and methodical in your approach to managing your tasks and priorities, you strive to meet deadlines and have a close appreciation of the commercial factors which affect design solutions.
