Interim Group Financial Accountant

Job Description
Our client is an international Engineering business based in Doncaster. There is an immediate opportunity for a qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent Accountant to join them for an initial 9 – 12 month interim contract to support the existing team through a busy period. Within the role you will ensure the maintenance and accuracy of the financial records in compliance with UKGAAP and IFRS and statutory reporting.
In this key role, you will work closely with senior management, auditors, and cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth operation of financial processes, reporting, and continuous improvement projects within the Group Finance function.
Key Responsibilities:
*
Maintaining the general ledger accounts for all UK legal entities, ensuring full compliance with UKGAAP and IFRS standards.
*
Preparing the annual audited UKGAAP accounts for the UK Group.
*
Managing the monthly Group reporting process, ensuring accurate, high-quality submissions to strict deadlines.
*
Ensuring compliance with Group accounting policies and engaging with internal and external auditors to manage statutory audits and reviews.
*
Overseeing the preparation and accurate reporting of annual statutory accounts for all legal entities within the UK Group.
*
Leading and managing continuous improvement and change initiatives within the Group Finance function.
*
Providing comprehensive support to stakeholders, monitoring financial reports, resolving queries, and ensuring high service levels.
*
Managing the reconciliation of intercompany accounts, liaising with international Group trading partners.
*
Overseeing inventory controls and working with employees across departments to drive improvements.
To be successful in this role, you will need:

Strong technical knowledge of UKGAAP and IFRS.
*
Experience in statutory reporting, including working with auditors.
*
Ability to manage change and continuous improvement projects.
*
Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
*
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
