PRODUCTION MANAGER
BASED - GLASGOW

ESS Recruit’s client specializes in manufacturing bespoke cable assemblies, control panels, and associated electronic components for various industries. They provide design support, logistics, and component sourcing whilst focusing on establishing long-term partnerships and delivering high-quality products to their customers. The business is now looking to recruit a Production Manager.
Role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director the Production Manager will organise and oversee the manufacturing of goods. You will be ultimately responsible for the smooth running of all production lines, the quality of output and the on-time delivery to our client schedules. The successful candidate will have an in-depth understanding of production procedures, quality assurance and operational efficiency. Additionally, they should possess strong leadership capabilities to effectively manage and motivate teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives. You must be adept at implementing best practices to achieve maximum performance across the organisation, ensuring efficient and productive manufacturing processes that not only meet but exceed customer requirements.
Responsibilities
Liaise with other managers to formulate objectives and understand requirements
Organise workflow to meet specifications and deadlines
Monitor production to resolve issues
Supervise and evaluate the performance of production personnel (quality inspectors, workers etc.)
Determine the amount of necessary resources (workforce/space)
Ensure output meets quality standards
Enforce health and safety precautions
Drive Continuous Improvement Activities
Skills and Experience
Deep knowledge of production management
Understanding of quality standards and health and safety regulations
Knowledge of performance evaluation and disciplinary processes
Experience in reporting on key production metrics
Outstanding communication ability
Excellent organisational and leadership skills
Attention to detail
Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach
