Job Description

Ultra Maritime has an exciting opportunity for a Resource Analyst or Planner seeking an exciting new opportunity for career growth. This is a new role to the business and provides the successful applicant an opportunity to build and shape the role.

The Engineering Resource Analyst is responsible for day-to-day resourcing operations, supporting the Engineering Department to recruit and allocate resource appropriately to support program commitments.

Key responsibilities

Working as part of the central engineering team and reporting to the VP of Engineering, your responsibilities will include:
Ensuring that the engineering demand data is managed across the entirety of the Ultra Maritime SMaP UK business
The accumulation of the engineering supply forecast to meet our projected forward load.
Work with Programmes and Engineering to facilitate the correct identification and prioritisation of the resources required to deliver a balanced and optimised resource solution to deliver the programme and business needs.
Identify areas for process improvement to eliminate inefficiencies in the resource management processes.
Develop management information using tools such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, JIRA and QlikSense, for improved visibility of the demand and supply picture and then routinely produce and share those reports.
Facilitate the alignment of future engineering resourcing with the business development and financial management teams.
Champion engineering productivity through influencing planners with accurate resourcing information and recommending improvements to increase visibility of the allocation of engineering resources and measurement of resource utilisation.
Onboarding of engineers, including development of personal induction plans for each engineer.
Identify and understand training and development needs across the engineering function.
Tracking of development plans for engineers.Qualifications / Skills required

A dynamic, professional engineer, you will have:
A higher diploma or bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Experience in and a deep understanding of managing resources in a complex organisation.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with experience in reporting to senior stakeholders.
Exposure to project scheduling and project management.
Advanced business reporting tools experience (Power BI, MS excel et,).
Microsoft PowerPoint experience and skills.
Examples of times when you have worked under tight time constraints, in challenging contexts.
It would be desirable to have worked in an Agile project management environment.
It would be desirable to have JIRA and/or QlikSense experience, including data manipulation and dashboard production.
A detail-oriented problem solver, with a passion for supporting the customer, you will:
Display good interpersonal skills with a talent for building rapport with a broad range of internal customers from diverse backgrounds.
Possess good self, task, and organisational management skills.
Take personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of your work, management, and technical decisions.
Demonstrate good people and stakeholder management skills, report writing and attention to detail.
Cooperate well with others to achieve outstanding outcomes.
Possess or look to hold a full driving licence. This role is office based with occasional travel across Ultra sites.
Be of a curious nature and critical thinker
Work independently on own initiative.Please note: the successful candidate must be able to obtain relevant the security vetting level for the role.
