Job Description
About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Electrical and Electronics Engineer to join our dynamic team, providing design solutions and engineering support for a wide range of products. You will work on both new product designs and enhancements of existing systems, ensuring compliance with engineering and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop electrical and electronic systems for new products and provide ongoing support for existing products.
* Collaborate with sales, supply chain, and production teams to provide optimal technical solutions.
* Create part numbers, bills of materials, and source components and materials.
* Produce and review engineering documentation, including specifications, test procedures, and reports.
* Ensure designs are delivered on time, within budget, and meet all relevant standards and regulations.
* Act as the technical approver for drawings and documentation within the engineering team.
* Lead or mentor junior team members, where applicable, and contribute to developing a high-performing, resilient team.
Requirements:
* Strong electrical and electronics design skills, including experience in control systems and power distribution.
* Proficiency in engineering design software/CAD tools.
* Knowledge of design standards, including IEC 61508 for critical applications.
* Experience with PLC systems, industrial automation networks (Profibus, CANbus, Ethernet), and HV/LV electrical systems.
* Familiarity with EMC compliance, traction battery systems, and marine/defence standards.
* Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or equivalent experience.
Skills and Qualities:
* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Attention to detail with a methodical approach to documentation.
* Ownership of tasks and a focus on delivering quality results within tight deadlines.
