About the role:

As an Azure Cloud Engineer, you will be working within a fast-growing team of Microsoft Cloud Engineers, Consultants and Architects working on key strategic engagements, supporting our clients in delivering innovative solutions and sustainable ongoing improvements.

Duties of the role include all key Azure Infrastructure SME aspects such as involvement across the full Cloud adoption lifecycle, supporting Azure platforms and infrastructure services.

Here’s what the role looks like:

Your primary objective will be to provide Azure SME knowledge and experience to our strategic clients.

  • Supporting a range of Azure Cloud solutions
  • Maintain and evolve solutions and service levels within key strategic customers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with our clients, understanding their business needs, and identifying opportunities for further collaboration.
  • Work closely with others in the team to identify opportunities and leverage existing capabilities to deliver end-to-end solutions to clients.
  • Stay up to date on the latest Azure technology changes and be an advocate for Digital Platforms within the business and with clients.
  • Build strong relationships with clients through quality execution and personable advice and guidance to become a trusted advisor and drive long-term business relationships.

Requirements

Here are the key skills and experience relevant to this role:

  • Good experience and background of producing high quality documentation and solution artefacts.
  • Microsoft certifications and accreditations in Azure
  • Experience in planning and migrating from on-premises or Cloud to Microsoft Azure using tools such as ASR, Azure Migrate and data migration assistant etc.
  • Experience and knowledge with Virtual Machines, Virtual Networking, VPN's, ASR, Azure Backup, Azure SQL, Storage, App Services, Azure Monitor, Policy, Security Centre, Log Analytics, Azure Automation/IAC (Terraform), Azure cost modelling and aligning to CAF and WAF
  • Experience with Load balancing solutions and appliances such as Application gateway, Azure load balancers and Azure Firewall etc.
  • Knowledge with Azure native patching mechanisms such as Azure Update Management
  • Good understanding of Identity Management concepts including RBAC and PIM.
  • Understand methods available to monitor, control and report on Azure costs.
  • Experience with Azure ARC, Defender for Cloud and Azure WAN and Azure AI beneficial but not essential.
  • Good understanding of software development lifecycle, methodologies and platforms such as Agile, DevOps, Azure pipelines and GitHub.
  • Good organisational and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated and looking for a challenge.
  • Naturally proactive
  • Passionate, professional and with a "can-do" attitude at all times.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Fast learner and able to adapt to new technology and keep abreast of current industry trends and best practices.
