SEN Casework Officer

3 - 6 months contract
Overall Purpose of the Post:
To manage a caseload of children with Education Health and Care plans to ensure that all appropriate actions relating to statutory requirements are met.
To undertake casework relating to new requests for statutory assessment to ensure that the case is prepared for a decision by SEN panel.
To write Education Health and Care Plans and make any amendments as required.
Experience
Extensive experience of working in the area of SEN, or substantial experience in a relevant area.
Working with others from a range of professional backgrounds
Working with parents and children Working in an educational setting
Applying solution focussed techniques to address positive outcomes from meetings for participants
Assessment used in schools by teaching staff and other professionals
Qualifications/ Training
The applicant must have completed Child Protection Training (and undertake upstaged training as required), including the Common Assessment Framework, or be willing to undertake this training on appointment.
The applicant must have completed training related to Data Protection and Freedom of Information legislation (and update this as required) or be willing to undertake this training upon appointment
