Job Description
We are looking for someone to join our Data Centre Engineering team to complete multi-skilled engineering tasks set across multiple engineering disciplines at our owned sites. The role will involve working closely with the Engineering Team and Project Team on Data Centre fit-out and customer project installations. The main purpose of the role will be physically installing and cabling IT equipment in data centre racks ("Racking and stacking") for the project work. Additionally, it might involve some routine and unplanned maintenance of the M&E infrastructure (if the candidate has expeirence of this) along with providing assistance to the Data Centre Engineers when required. All work is carried out in compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
These duties are required to be carried out in line with the constraints imposed by Project deadlines and our contractual SLAs. All works are recorded via our industry leading management portals which include CAFM, DCIM and Service Management tools.
* Complete project installations, ensuring all work is completed on time and to specification.
* Respond to issues in an efficient manner to maintain business SLA’s.
* Complete and document accurate records of project and maintenance work.
* Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to resolve cross-functional issues.
* Report and track issues via the appropriate management tool.
* Always keep management and other departments up to date.
* Promote and adhere to health and safety requirements.
* Assist Operations and Security Staff as required.
Person Specification:
The individual will have a keen eye for detail and a pro-active attitude towards their duties. Will have good communication skills, is able to work as part of a team as well as managing their own workload and time management. Keen to learn - through on the job training, formal training and personal study.
