The impact you will have: Join our Demand Generation department as our Manager, Corporate Events . In this high-impact role, you’ll be responsible for crafting and executing innovative event strategies that align with Softchoice’s business objectives. As a key player in delivering world-class events and experiences, you will lead a team to create events that not only engage and inspire but also drive measurable business outcomes. This role is hybrid with the expectation of working in the Toronto office once a week. Also there will be expectations for travel to events once a quarter. What you will do: Event Strategy & Leadership Collaborate with Senior Leadership, Go to Market teams, and Sales Leaders to translate business goals into strategic, impactful event experiences, that drive engagement with customers and prospects. Team Management & Development Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing events team, integrating event execution best practices, supporting career development opportunities and conversations, developing and monitoring annual goals, and leading with collaboration and empathy. Annual Event Planning & Budgeting Develop and manage an annual events calendar and multi-partnership sponsorship budgets. Ensure events enhance Softchoice’s market presence while generating qualified leads for sales. Vendor & Contract Management Lead contract negotiations with event venues, suppliers, and vendors. Ensure cost-effective solutions without compromising on quality, continuously improving supplier relationships. Event Communications & Reporting Manage all event-related communications, from pre-event planning meetings to post-event performance reports. Present event ROI to senior stakeholders. Innovative Event Programs Create new event formats that drive vendor sponsorship opportunities and align with market trends, contributing to Softchoice’s business growth. Event Execution Provide leadership and support in the execution of events, ensuring seamless coordination of logistics, including venue setup, vendor management, on-site staff, and all event materials. Ensure the team delivers flawless execution from start to finish. What you bring to the table: 7 years of experience managing both large-scale and intimate events, with full responsibility for planning, budgeting, and execution. 3 years of leadership experience, including managing and developing teams. B2B event planning & execution experience required. Strong expertise in vendor management, especially in hospitality, travel, and property. Exceptional skills in budgeting, financial reconciliation, and delivering cost-effective event solutions. Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with comfort in presenting to senior executives. Strong project management capabilities, with a knack for keeping teams organized and on schedule. Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure. Collaborative mindset and experience working across teams to achieve shared goals. Experience in IT or tech industry conferences is highly advantageous. Not sure if you qualify?
