Together We Advance your career JOB DETAILS: Location: Markham, Ontario Onsite/Hybrid: This role requires the student to work full time ( 37.5 hours a week), either in a hybrid or onsite or remote work structure throughout the duration of the co-op/intern term. Duration: May 5, 2025, to August 27, 2026. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: Layout of basic digital and analog building blocks using analog transistor level components Integration of analog macros, power pads, and input/output pads using above blocks Verification of microelectronic layout using industry-standard CAD tools Best practices of layout and schematic design Design verification checks Industry-standard CAD design tools Working in a fast-paced professional environment The AMD full custom IC layout group is looking for enthusiastic students to join our team on internship. We are responsible for designing the layout for digital and analog circuit based on schematics using industry-leading CAD tools and cutting-edge foundry technology. Examples of circuit layout designed by our team include Phase Locked Loops, Delay Locked Loops, Voltage Controlled Oscillators, Low Voltage Differential Signaling circuitry, Double Data Rate circuitry, Droop Detector, and Die Crack Monitor. Our team allows the student to work on the design of AMD's latest GPU and CPU products. Senior designers will mentor the student throughout the internship and improve his or her technical and decision-making skills, and overall performance. The student will be able experience the different stages of circuit layout development: from initial floor planning and designing low level logic gates, to top level integration of numerous low-level blocks. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Basic knowledge of electrical circuit components including resistor, capacitors, transistors, and logic gates Exposure to CAD packages such as Cadence or AutoCAD Perl programming, skill programming, Excel spreadsheet experience and Linux shell script writing would be beneficial Benefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.
