This career step requires intermediate level experience. Responsible for developing network designs for wireless, wireline and broadband infrastructure. Applies the necessary tools and engineering principles to create and design the network infrastructure in accordance with approved guidelines.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Manages, delivers and deploys aspects of network architecture, design, engineering and detail network specifications in order to migrate client from current network environment to the new environment.
- Responsibilities may also include working with Labs, product development, and engineering teams to actually author process documentation, methods, procedures, and guidelines for current network planning, capacity management, and network builds.
- Coordinates and interfaces with internal and external customers to ensure service commitments are met.
- Assesses a clients current Network (both data and voice) and makes recommendations for improvements based on the clients business and technical requirements.
- Designs and engineers new specifications to encompass all communication and computer equipment, lines, timeframes, etc.
- Uses engineering tools, various software applications, and databases to assist in creating the engineering documents.
- Prepares/oversees cost/benefit estimates, presentations, negotiations, installation, problem resolution, and multivendor product integration.
- May provide initial implementation support of networks to assure proper execution and provides resolution for system failures or degradations.
- Provide project management and documentation as required.
Job Contribution:
- Intermediate level technical professional.
- Subject matter technical knowledge within a discipline and sound understanding of ATT technologies.
Education:
- Typically an AS or BS degree in Math, Science or Engineering preferred or related field or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- Typically requires 3-5 years experience.

Environmental Requirements:
- This position may be responsible for contributing to AT&T compliance with environmental laws and regulations as applicable to its job function.
- This may include, but is not limited to, work related to fuel tanks, emergency and stand-by generators, boilers, hazardous waste, hazardous materials, batteries, manholes and vaults, water wells, linear and other construction projects, water discharge, or air emissions.
Major Responsibilities:
- DevelopingDocumenting wiredWi-Fi network designs and configuration for large enterprise (MDURetailHospitalityCorporate offices)
- Develop budgetary network design estimates for both business and consumer customers, through careful review of a pre-sales questionnaire provided by
Front Door:
- Estimate AP count based on number of units/tenants, common area, and outdoor locations
- Estimate the number of IDFs based on building count and number of floors
- Size the RGnets gateway based on an estimated number of concurrent devices and circuit speed
- Developing configuration, supportingroubleshooting network problems and coordinating with multi-vendors for installation of such items as routers, switches, wireless LAN controllers, Wi-Fi access points, firewalls, DHCP servers, wireless controllers, virtual machines, and cloud infrastructure.
- ReviewAnalyze emerging network technologies, working with product and architecture teams to develop new conceptsmethodsechniques.
- BuildsMaintains customer and vendors labs to test customer network configurations and certify new vendor (Gateway, Switch, AP, and Concentrator) firmware.
- Assist in the testing, customer location, and repair of equipment problems associated with trouble reports and performs routine maintenance on lab equipment.

- Additional Skillsets Required:
- Aruba & Meraki work experience 5+ Years
- Aruba product certification preferred
- Meraki product certification preferred
- Scripting Experience Preferred
- API Experience Preferred
- Strong Wi-Fi design, troubleshooting, and analysis skill
- Strong hands on routingswitching experience
- Experience with common wireless tools (Omnipeek, Ekahau, etc.)
- Ability to communicate complex technical information through documentation and discussion
- Familiar with key vendor technologies (Cisco, Aruba, Meraki)
- Presents well in customer settings
- Consulting Network Design documentation experience
Our Senior Network Design Engineering, earn between $94,300 - $141,500. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
