Position Summary for CDL Driver with Hoisting License: Our CDL Drivers deliver a wide range of products specific to our industry and include boxed items, coils of wire, bundles of pipe, and other electrical components, parts, and goods. Trucks are pre-loaded at our central distribution center and are delivered to customer job sites across New England. Delivery stops are manifested to maximize route efficiency and ensure accurate and timely delivery.


*In the particular role the individual will drive a Class B level moffett truck, and MUST HAVE HOISTING LICENSE.*


Responsibilities for CDL Drivers:

  • Plans and completes an efficient delivery and pick up route for the day.
  • Communicates with Fleet and Transportation Manager on the status of the route.
  • Loads delivery vehicle with parcels scheduled for delivery using the moffett.
  • Delivers parcels to correct addresses, obtaining signatures and proof of receipt when necessary.
  • Picks up parcels along the scheduled route, including items to be returned, company orders, and other items as requested.
  • Maintains basic records of truck mileage and deliveries made.
  • Ensures that delivery vehicle receives basic service according to maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor.
  • Assists in general warehouse duties when delivery route is completed or prior to departure
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL - Class A or B)
  • HOISTING License / Hydraulic License REQUIRED
  • Fork Lift Certificate
  • Pass the required Motor Vehicle Driving Record (MVR) and background screening
  • Pass DOT physical and DOT Road Test


Experience:

  • At lease two (2) years of Commercial Driver License (CDL) experience
  • At least two (2) years of Hoisting License / Hydraulic License experience
  • At least two (2) years of experience working in a warehouse or distribution center
  • Some experience as a delivery driver making deliveries and pick-ups on time


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Operating trucks requiring a CDL license (e.g., performing basic functions like driving forwards, driving backwards, maneuvering in tight spaces, etc.)
  • Merchandising products (e.g., filling shelves, building displays, making products look attractive on shelves, rotating product, cleaning shelves, or eliminating out of stocks and out of date products, etc.)
  • Operating equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks, breakdowns, Moffat forklifts etc.)
  • Maintain basic logs and records
  • Ability to use navigation technology such as GPS and smartphone, or physical maps if needed


Working Conditions:

  • Working in a warehouse setting
  • Be able to work with heavy machinery
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, 100 pounds with the help
  • Availability on weekdays; morning or afternoon shifts
  • Hazardous conditions may arise
  • Prolonged sitting
