Job Summary:
As the Operations Manager for an insurance broker, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the operational aspects of the organization. Your primary responsibility will be to optimize efficiency, enhance productivity, and ensure seamless business operations across all departments. Your deep understanding of the insurance industry, strong leadership skills, and strategic thinking will be instrumental in driving the company's success.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management: Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to streamline processes, enhance productivity, and improve customer service within the insurance brokerage. Oversee day-to-day operations, including underwriting, claims processing, policy administration, and customer support.

Performance Monitoring: Establish performance metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs), and service level agreements (SLAs) to measure operational efficiency and effectiveness. Regularly monitor and analyze data to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven decisions.

Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline operations, reduce costs, and improve workflow efficiency. Work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement process improvements and automation initiatives, ensuring seamless integration and optimal utilization of technology solutions.

Risk Management: Collaborate with risk management teams to identify and mitigate operational risks. Develop and implement risk assessment and control measures to ensure compliance with industry regulations, legal requirements, and company policies.

Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership and guidance to operational teams, including underwriters, claims processors, policy administrators, and customer service representatives. Foster a positive work environment, promote professional development, and ensure teams are equipped with the necessary skills and resources to meet objectives.

Relationship Management: Build and maintain effective relationships with insurance carriers, vendors, and key stakeholders. Negotiate contracts, establish service level agreements, and monitor performance to ensure quality service delivery and optimal business partnerships.

Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the executive team to develop and execute the company's strategic plans and objectives. Provide insights and recommendations to drive operational excellence, scalability, and sustainable growth.

Compliance and Regulatory Oversight: Stay abreast of industry trends, changes in regulations, and compliance requirements. Ensure operational processes and systems align with legal and regulatory standards, implementing necessary adjustments as needed.

Financial Management: Collaborate with the finance team to develop and manage operational budgets, monitor expenses, and identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.
Extensive experience (8+ years) in operational management within the insurance industry, preferably as an insurance broker.
Proven track record of successfully managing complex operational functions, driving process improvements, and achieving operational targets.
In-depth knowledge of insurance brokerage operations, underwriting processes, claims management, and policy administration.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve goals.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven mindset.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Familiarity with insurance regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices.
Proficiency in utilizing technology and automation tools to optimize operations.
Demonstrated strategic thinking and ability to contribute to overall company growth and success.
