Project: Refurbishment of a Listed Building into 7 Flats with Rear Extension and Associated External Works
Job Description:
My Client is seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee the refurbishment of an existing listed building in Surrey. The project involves converting the building into 7 new flats, with a small extension to the rear and all associated external works. The ideal candidate will have significant experience managing residential projects, both refurbishments and new builds, and will be responsible for managing all aspects of the site.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the refurbishment of a listed building to create 7 flats, ensuring that all work meets high-quality standards.
* Oversee the construction of a rear extension and associated external works.
* Manage subcontractors and site personnel, ensuring all work is carried out safely and efficiently.
* Monitor the project schedule, making sure deadlines and budgets are adhered to.
* Liaise with the project team, including architects, engineers, and quantity surveyors, to ensure smooth progress.
* Ensure compliance with listed building regulations and planning consents, working closely with conservation officers.
* Ensure all health and safety regulations are met on-site, conducting regular inspections.
* Maintain accurate site records, including reports, permits, and any required documentation.
* Foster good relationships with local stakeholders and authorities.
Qualifications and Experience:
* 5-10 years' experience as a Lead Site Manager on residential projects.
* Proven experience with both refurbishment and new build residential projects.
* Knowledge of listed building regulations and conservation practices is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with managing projects in the South London/Surrey region.
* Excellent communication skills, able to liaise with clients, subcontractors, and the project team.
* Strong IT skills, including proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office.
* Proactive approach to problem-solving and site management.

* Day rate: c. £250 (all in)
