Job Description

With the launch of the Womens Health Strategy in July 2022, Dept of Health (DH) has tasked NHS England to deliver specific policy related commitments and provided funding of £1.2m for the period ending 31 March 2025 to resource and deliver the programme. Please note that this is a time limited programme/project.

To provide support to the programme manager to provide an efficient and effective support service for the Womens Health team.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support the team to ensure that programmes of work are planned and managed effectively and in assisting in their successful delivery:

• Applying appropriate project principles to deliver objectives.

• Responsible for consolidating and documenting the fundamental components of projects, opportunities and deliverables that supports business goals in collaboration.

• Support and coordinate the development of business cases.

• Responsible for maintaining Project systems.

• Day to day management of changes request in relation to the project plans to ensure agreed deadlines and quality standards are met.

• Governance adherence.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

NHS England hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met. To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route youll usually need to be paid the standard salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the going rate for your job, whichever is higher. Job responsibilities

The NHS health and care system cares for all and 51% of thepopulation face obstacles when it comes to access care.In 2014 the chief medical officers annual report The health of 51%women, they identified the widening disparities for girls and womenduring their adolescent, reproductive and post reproductive years.

These issues remain relevant today. The DHSC published the first Womens Health Strategy for England in August 2022.

The year 1 priorities for the strategy are:

• Encouraging expansion of womens health hubs.

• Improving information provision on womens health

• Health in workplace

• Developing a pregnancy loss certificate

• Improving access to IVF and ensuring equity of access

• Access to HRT

• Healthy ageing and long-term conditions

• Research in womens health.

Working as part of the team to ensure the delivery of key objectivesto support programmes of work that relate to the Womens HealthStrategy in line with NHSE objectives to support quality, access andsustainability for all women and girls

Main responsibilities:

• Accountable for projects/programmes over their life cycle (identify and assign, define and approve, delivery and close) by planning and implementation of projects/programmes to ensure that they are delivered on time, to cost and quality constraints.

• Support the identification, measuring and tracking of benefits.

• Support the identification and monitoring of project risk and issues.

• Propose appropriate mitigating actions and escalating to the Programme Board as appropriate.

• To be the subject matter expert on all aspects of the relevant project,supporting and contributing to the overall delivery of the project.

• Ensure that appropriate method for displaying a wide variety of data in a variety of formats

• Develop and deliver progress reports, proposal, requirement documentation and presentations.

Person Specification

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

• Experience of managing projects including project planning, project control and project management across a wide portfolio/ programme.

• Experience of managing risks, identifying issues, reporting/ escalation and identifying mitigations.

• Experience of managing a broad range of stakeholders.

Skills & Abilities

• Ability to build relations with internal and external partners.

Interpersonal Skills

Essential

• Commitment to continuing professional development

Qualifications

Essential

• Educated to a degree level or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area.
