UTILITIES MANAGER – Construction / Civils – Leading Tier 1 Main Contractor – BEST Employer in Construction.
*Previous Main Contractor or Sub Contractor or Consultancy experience all considered.*
COMPANY:
Our client is a leading Building and Civil Engineering Main Contractor, seeking a Utilities Manager / Coordinator, an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the business as the companies first full-time in-house Utilities Manager to support on delivery of their Building and Civils projects.
LOCATION:
Time split between Northamptonshire office, site visits and remote working.

ROLE:
As Utilities Manager your role and duties will include:
* Ensure quotes and plans the MEP consultants provide are to spec and push them along when they are not meeting targets.
* Interrogate quotes received from utilities companies to ensure specification compliance and identify any gaps in the scope.
* Offer alternative solutions for client / tender review
* Plan disconnections/service alternations for pre-existing HV/LV electric, gas, water, sewer connections and telecoms on sites that are going to be demolished or redeveloped.
* Arrange new HV/LV electric, gas, water and sewer services and telecoms. Provide all information required for their planning.
* Review options for Temp power for site sepup
* Check and agree metering strategies for gas meters, electric meter, water meters and comms.
* Main contact point between all utility companies and Preconstruction.
* Liaise with MEP subcontractors regarding installation time frames and schedules and assist site teams with producing programmes, for inclusion in programme
* Attend Project launch to hand over Stats to Project Team
* Site visits as required during tender phase and during project if issues arise
* Point of contact for site teams to discuss problems
* Assist if client instructs variations to incoming stats
REQUIREMENTS:
To be considered for this Utilities Manager role you must meet the following criteria:
• Knowledge of processes involved in procurement and delivery of all statutory services.
• Ideally experience of working in the utilities industry with either a statutory provider or accredited subcontractor.
- Knowledge of Building or Civils Sectors.
- Previous employment as a Utilities Manager, Utilities Coordinator, Site Agent, Contracts Manager, Construction Manager, Civil Engineer, M&E Co-ordinator, Building Services Coordinator, M&E Manager, Building Services Manager or Mechanical Design Engineer, Mechanical Designer, Project Engineer, M&E Supervisor, M&E Project Manager or similar.
- Previous Main Contractor employment would be ideal but not essential, Engineering Consultancy and Subcontractor backgrounds also considered.
- Good communication skills.
- Relevant industry qualification (Degree / HND / HNC etc).
