We are looking for a Programme Manager- Engineering Strategy for a 12 Month contract based in Derby Remotely 2 days out of 5 on behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs.
Job description - the role
To support the engineering resource strategy across civil, defense, and power systems sectors, it is essential to develop a comprehensive framework for forecasting resource requirements over a 3-5 year timescale. This involves identifying future skill gaps and aligning resource needs with business growth objectives. The strategy should capture both current capabilities and anticipated demands, enabling a robust plan to bridge any gaps. By analysing workforce trends, implementing training and recruitment initiatives, and fostering cross-sector collaboration, the plan should deliver a scalable solution that ensures the availability of critical engineering talent for future project
As a Programme Manager you will be responsible for:
The Project Manager is responsible for the planning, delegation, monitoring and control of all aspects of the project, and the motivation of those involved, to achieve the project's objectives / output with the expected performance targets of time, cost, quality, scope, benefits and risks.
Accountable for the successful delivery to cost, specification and time for a defined package of work within the project.
Secure and manage the provision of resources needed for projects from internal and/or external providers
Responsible for the creation and management of an integrated set of plans / schedules
Develop and secure budgets for the project(s) and control the forecast and actual costs against the allocated budget
Establish, develop and maintain the documentation necessary to deliver the package(s) of work within the project.
Act as the focal point and escalation route for all aspects related to the packages of work within the project.
Provide information necessary to make management decisions to the key stakeholders.
Identify, address and resolve differences between individuals and / or interest groups
Organize and chair schedule review meetings and report areas where executive decisions need to be made.
Ensure the implementation of company management processes are effective & efficient and implement Project Management best practice in line with company management processes.
Provide basic guidance to others regarding the Project Management processes and the operation of the project What we require from the candidate:
Degree Level qualification preferable or equivalent industry experience
Ideally a member of a professional body or working to achieve appropropiate level of qualification
At least 5 years experience in project management or equivalent industry experience
Experience of leading multi- functional teams would be an advantageNext steps
