As a Microsoft Partner, Sword support organisations across Public Sector, Finance, Manufacturing, Retail and Energy to deliver innovative Microsoft focused Consultancy and Managed Service solutions across Digital & Cloud Services, Data Science and Modern Workplace.

As we embark on to next phase of our growth we’re looking for a highly motivated and detail orientated Business Development Executive to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of accounts, ensuring that their needs and expectations are met whilst identifying net new opportunities in existing and new accounts. The Business Development Executive will work closely with our Sales Lead, Business Unit Director and wider sales team to identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to grow existing accounts.

You’ll be a part of a new team within the business focussed on taking our Data and Apps offerings specifically focussed across Public Sector and Private sector. We drive and maintain long standing partnerships with our customers which is testimony to our technical credibility and experience. We also pride ourselves on maintaining and delivering against the Sword core values which is an important part of the Sales team and wider business.

  • Ability to multi task and prioritise tasks effectively
  • 1-2 years of experience in account management, sales
  • Based in England preferably South
  • Have an entrepreneurial leadership style, with full responsibility to drive and deliver new Data and Apps sales revenues across customers
  • Develop long-term sustainable relations with senior-level customers and partners
  • Proven track record of managing medium, large and complex accounts
  • Commercially focused, articulate and possess the ability to think strategically
  • Proven knowledge and execution of successful business development strategies
  • It’s not compulsory but a background in selling Microsoft solutions would be beneficial

Requirements

Requirements:

  • We are looking for a Business Development Executive with a proven track record developing new business where you will have a strong network of contacts
  • Work closely with the Business Unit Director, Sales Lead and Senior BDM taking our propositions to market with a focus on supporting the Business Development Manager and liaising with other Sword Group customers
  • Help organise and attend industry customer events
  • Work closely with vendors (Microsoft) to drive business together
  • Develop strong professional relationships with prospects and customers to ideally achieve “Trusted Partner” status
  • Operate within the agreed Account Management processes and governance framework
  • Engage in a range of sales activities with established and prospective customers to identify, win and retain business, in line with the execution of broader commercial strategy
  • Lead commercial and technical sales activities through collaborative working with Technical Leads and pre-sales
  • Ownership and Influence of input into the tender response process, ensuring that RFI’s, RFP’s and proposals are delivered in a timely manner and with accurate costing for delivery to a broad range of customers
  • Establish and maintain professional working relationships at multiple levels with internal and external stakeholders
  • Working with internal delivery teams to ensure delivery of high-quality services to customers
