Job Details:

• Position: Special Education Teacher
• Location: Houghton, NY
• Job Type: Full-time, Contract (2024-2025 School Year)
• Grade Levels: K-12
• Start Date: Immediate

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the specific needs of each student.
• Modify curriculum and teaching strategies to support student learning and progress.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure students receive appropriate acmodations.
• Monitor and assess student performance, providing regular updates and revising IEPs as needed.
• Participate in IEP meetings and work with the multidisciplinary team to develop effective strategies for student success.

Qualifications:

• Valid New York Special Education teaching certification.
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Experience working with students with disabilities and developing IEPs.
• Strong munication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
