Job Summary:As a vital member of a global drafting department, the Drafting/CAD Technician II will assist in the creation, revision, and storage of electronic drawing files using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD for custom-designed process equipment across Client Optical Fiber and Cable manufacturing locations worldwide. This role focuses on completing all necessary work for engineering and development drawing sets before their release into the system (Autodesk Vault).

This role focuses on completing all necessary work for engineering and development drawing sets before their release into the system (Autodesk Vault).
Key Responsibilities:
- Correct redlined models and drawings issued by the drafting lead or engineering/development teams.
- Convert legacy hand-drawn and AutoCAD drawings into 3D models and associative drawings.
- Create 2D drawings from existing 3D models provided by other users.
- Gather data from engineering teams and incorporate relevant information into the appropriate drawings.
- Collect measurements and information from the production floor to integrate into drawings.
- This position is contract-based through a third party, typically lasting one year with the possibility of extension based on performance and project workload.
- A hybrid work schedule is available, allowing for remote work 3-4 days per week.
- Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with a target of 45 hours per week; overtime may be required.
- Candidates should possess one of the following, though other technical degrees with demonstrated drafting skills will be considered:
- A.A.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology
- A.O.S. in Drafting/CAD
- Drafting Certificate/Certification
- Candidates without degrees must demonstrate proficiency in 2D and 3D drafting, along with at least 2 years of experience as a Drafting/CAD Technician in the mechanical engineering field.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in the mechanical drafting field.
- Working knowledge of ASME/ANSI drafting standards.
- Proficient in general Windows-based computer skills.
- Strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault software.
- Ability to adapt to company standards and guidelines.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
