Title: Manufacturing Engineer, Second Shift

Location: Rome, NY

Timing: 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Supports Manufacturing Engineering & Operations in Rome, NY
  • Second Shift (3:30 PM – 12:00 AM)
  • Work alongside the engineering team and shop floor by creating work instructions for operations
  • Develop, produce, and modify process operation and assembly sheets.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and can integrate within a production process. Keen understanding of B/P interpretation as it relates to specification requirements.
  • May have a working knowledge of 3D modeling. (NX preferred)
  • Experienced with basic manufacturing processes, methods, and techniques
  • Ability to markup requirements for tools/fixtures/gages.
  • Support supplier questions about fixtures and part requirements.
  • Ability to manage various projects and process tasks while following the approval process for authoring operation sheets
  • Identify areas for improved product manufacturability, reduced product cost, or improved product reliability.
  • Communicates technical subject matter proficiently, both written and verbally.
  • Respond effectively in a high-paced environment.
  • Production troubleshooting
  • Can rationalize and implement inspection methods and techniques.
  • Familiarity with Teamcenter and Solumina preferred.
  • Skilled in project management and follows up on tasks daily.
  • Create presentations based on process data and results to show opportunities for productivity improvements and cost savings.
  • Ability to manage various project and process tasks related to product quality.

Required Skills (Technical Competencies):

  • Degree in Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Familiarity with creating manufacturing operation sheets
  • Experience using Solumina to implement process plans
  • Knowledge of advanced manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of various tools, gages, and fixtures
  • Proficient in blueprint reading
  • Proficient in GD&T as well as a firm background in generating operation sheets
  • Experienced in AS9100 and basic manufacturing processes, methods, and techniques.

Desired Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 -4 years experience
  • Familiarity with Teamcenter and NX preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Organized with the ability to multi-task while driving actions to completion
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • Mostly Office Environments and Shop Floor involvement.
  • Moderate amounts of telephone and substantial amounts of computer work.
  • Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.
  • Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
  • Typical 8-hour days plus lunch / 40-hour weeks/hours – 2nd Shift (3:30 PM – 12:00 AM)
  • Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.
  • Due to the nature of the work, all candidates must be U.S. Citizens.
