This company operates four business units specializing in the design and manufacture of systems for the asphalt roofing, construction, telecommunications, power, metal coil processing industries, and medical industries. The machinery and manufacturing solutions designed, built and commissioned by this company have been helping customers improve productivity and profits since the early 1900s.
This company seeking an experienced Welding Supervisor to lead and manage its welding operations. This role is responsible for overseeing a team of welders to ensure high-quality welds that meet production schedules and engineering specifications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with MIG and Stick welding and a background in working for an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) company. In addition to managing the team, the Welding Supervisor will also weld when necessary to meet production deadlines. Collaboration with various departments to optimize welding processes for efficiency, safety, and quality control is key. Strong leadership skills are essential for mentoring the welding team, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring projects are completed on time and to the highest standards.
Ideal Experience:
- High school diploma or GED (an associate's degree, trade school certification, or relevant certifications are a plus).
- 3-5+ years of supervising a welding shop
- Expertise in MIG and Stick welding techniques
- Strong knowledge of welding processes and materials, including steel and aluminum
- Experience working in an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) environment
- Proven ability to supervise and manage a team of welders
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent quality control and attention to detail in welding operations
- Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and welding specifications
- Proficiency in troubleshooting welding defects and resolving issues quickly
- Experience implementing process improvements for efficiency and quality
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and protocols in a welding environment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly with engineering and production teams
- Ability to manage production schedules and meet tight deadlines.
