Senior traffic engineer

Job Description
Senior Transportation/Traffic Engineer (4+ years of experience, Professional Engineer license required) to join our team in the Metro DC area. The selected candidate will support our clients' efforts in performing traffic and safety studies, addressing citizen complaints, develop traffic engineering designs (signal, signing, marking, lighting), and provide on-site support at client's office as necessary.
Responsibilities
Perform design of lighting, traffic signals, signal systems, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), signing and pavement markings, and ADA curb ramps.
Perform traffic safety investigation, data collection, observation, and countermeasure development. Develop conceptual design with estimates.
Develop maintenance of Traffic Schemes, Construction Phasing, and Traffic Control Plans. Develop project cost estimates and specifications.
Provide technical guidance to engineers and technical staff.
Provide on-site support at client's office as required.
Skills and Attributes
Understanding of transportation engineering principles
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Self-motivated
Excellent attention to detail
Proficiency in some of the following tools: Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, MicroStation/AutoCAD, MS Office, VISSIM, GIS
Familiar with transportation engineering standards, including AASHTO, MUTCD, Highway Capacity Manual, Highway Safety Manual and/or ITE guidance documents
Qualifications
Must be lawfully authorized to work in the United States
Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, or related field
4+ years of experience
PE license required
