Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician (Fixed-Term) – Vauxhall Motors, Ellesmere Port

Location: Ellesmere Port, Cheshire (just off junction 6/7 of the M53)

Permanent position / 9-month Fixed-Term Contract available also

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (3-shift rotation) with opportunities for overtime

Salary: £19.10 - £21.23 per hour

Role Overview: We are currently seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician to support the operations at our Ellesmere Port Manufacturing Site. This role involves maintaining and improving the performance of the production equipment and systems, ensuring that the plant runs efficiently and with minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reactive maintenance to resolve breakdowns
• Performing planned maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability
• Supporting production teams during operational runs
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving recurring faults
• Implementing Continuous Improvement Processes (CIP)

What We’re Looking For: To be successful in this role, you’ll need to demonstrate the following:

• A Time Served Apprenticeship in Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance (Minimum qualification ONC/HNC)
• Knowledge of Siemens S7 PLC systems and devices (advantageous)
• Experience with Fanuc Robots (programming and setup preferred)
• Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic circuits (advantageous)
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High levels of self-motivation, initiative, and tenacity
