Our client is a global leader in supplying advanced instrumentation and software solutions for scientific research, industrial process control, and semiconductor metrology. With decades of experience, their systems are used worldwide for material characterisation and they take pride in delivering world-class customer support.


The Role


They are seeking a Field Service Engineer to join their Sydney team. As a Field Service Engineer, you'll be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and ongoing maintenance of complex scientific instrumentation used in research and industrial applications. The role will involve travel throughout the East Coast of Australia.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Install and configure analytical instruments and systems, ensuring optimal performance from delivery to sign-off.

  • Diagnose and resolve issues remotely or in the field, ensuring timely repairs and high customer satisfaction.

  • Conduct regular maintenance to prevent equipment failure and maintain optimal operation.

  • Keep customers informed on the status of ongoing service requests and escalate issues when necessary.


Key Requirements:



  • Diploma or higher qualification in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or a related field.

  • At least 2 years of experience in technical support, customer service, or field service engineering.

  • Hands-on experience with precision mechanics and technical troubleshooting.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Willingness to travel extensively (50%-60%) across Australia and New Zealand.

  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and work independently.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • NSW or equivalent radiation safety license is highly desirable.

  • Experience using analytical instrumentation within the medical sector is beneficial.
