Engineering Leader - Voice Platforms

Client is a next-generation telecom operator focused on SMBs. Their vision is to reimagine the business phone for SMBs by building a powerful business communication platform that helps grow their sales. What you will do : - You are expected to lead the entire Telephony & VOIP Engineering function. Company is a telecom operator and this is one of the most important roles in the company. - Responsible for each aspect of company's telephony functions from the app, connectivity between app & server to our deployment with telephony partners and over time, building interconnects directly with the major telecom operators. - Work closely with the founders, engineering leaders, designers & business team to collaboratively create an innovative product - Troubleshoot and resolve issues and ensure high availability and reliability. - Create automated monitoring and alerting system & support processes to ensure that we provide a high quality and reliable service to customers. - Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and contribute to the overall system architecture. What skills you must have : - Must have 10 years of experience in VOIP and telephony engineering. - Proven experience in telephony, dialer systems, WebRTC, SIP, and PRI. - Experience with telephony frameworks and libraries. Must have experience in Asterisk, Kamailio, RTP engine and others. - Hands-on experience with VoIP technologies and protocols (e.g., RTP, RTCP, SDP) and knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, NAT traversal techniques, L1/L2 routing, subnets and other. - Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Node.JS, Python, C++, or similar. - Experience with infrastructure management, exposure to devops functions in addition to working with cloud computing providers such as GCP, AWS or Azure. - Experience leading a team of engineers, building multiple platforms from scratch and working with product, design & business counterparts. - Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. - Great communication and collaboration skills.
