Working Days: 4 on 4 off followed by 3 on 3 off
Week One: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday& Wednesday
Week Two: Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday
Shift Times: 06:00 - 18:00
Annual Salary: £46,500 (£21.29ph) - £50,000 (£22.89ph) depending on experience - with overtime and bonus, you can expect to earn £55,000 - £60,000 annually

Job description:

Are you an experienced HGV Technician? My client, a well established haulage operator with nationwide coverage is actively seeking to recruit an experienced HGV Technician to join their purpose built workshop facility on the outskirts of Stevenage.

TheHGV Technician will be responsible for the ongoing inspection, service, maintenance and repair on a wide range of commercial vehicles ranging from 7.5t trucks to tractor unit and everything in between.
A significant part of this role will be preparing the vehicles presented to you for their MOT inspections.

HGV TechnicianDaily duties:

• Conduct thorough inspections on all vehicles within the fleet
• Carry out any required repairs to vehicles identified in the initial inspection
• Maintain all vehicles, trailers and workshop equipment to company/legal standards to ensure maximum operational availability for the Transport Department
• MOT inspections, preparations and presentations if you hold a commercial driving licence (Driver training will be provided for those without this licence after a qualifying period)
• Ensure that the care and condition of all Company equipment is maintained and report all defects/damages
• Maintain a recording monitoring system to comply with legal and company requirements
• Promote safe working practices and ensure that site Health & Safety standards comply with Company Policy

Working days / Rates:

ThisHGV Technicianrole is available on a 4 on 4off / 3 on 3 off DAY SHIFT
Shift working hours will be from 06:00 - 18:00 (No time deducted for breaks etc)
The basic salary for the role will be £46,500 (£21.29ph) - £50,000 (£22.89ph) depending on experience, with overtime and bonus available to take the earnings past £55,000 - £60,000 annually

What we need from you:

• Completed an HGV Technician apprenticeship
• Your own tools
• Full UK driving license
• Class 1 license would be beneficial but isnt essential for this role
