Job Description
We're looking for a proactive and strategic marketer with a passion for consumer goods to join an award-winning FMCG business. You’ll play a crucial role in shaping and executing the marketing and trade marketing plans to drive brand growth and visibility.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing & Trade Strategy Development: Collaborate closely with the SLT to develop comprehensive marketing and trade strategies that align with brand goals. Understand and analyse product categories, identifying growth opportunities and competitive insights to inform brand planning.
Campaign Management & Reporting: Design, execute, and report on trade marketing plans that support brand objectives. Work with national account managers to bring trade marketing strategies to life, providing monthly and quarterly updates on brand performance and market positioning.
Agency Collaboration: Partner with advertising, media, and design agencies to ensure campaigns align with creative briefs, encompassing advertising, packaging, point-of-sale, and media placements.
Financial & Budget Oversight: Monitor monthly budget expenditures across different trade channels, maintaining close coordination with clients to ensure financial targets and brand objectives are met.
Sales Team Support & Brand Communication: Support sales teams with brand updates, including preparing customer presentations alongside sales managers, national account managers, and trade representatives. Attend customer meetings to provide marketing expertise and represent brand initiatives.
Supply Chain Coordination: Collaborate with logistics teams to ensure seamless supply continuity, addressing any potential challenges proactively.
Forecasting & Profit Accountability: Own sales and profit forecasts, contributing to annual business objectives by aligning closely with the finance and sales teams to support accurate and effective forecasting.
Market & Competitor Analysis: Conduct detailed analysis of competitor activities and market trends, identifying opportunities for product positioning and strategic brand enhancement.
Experience & Skills:
Marketing Experience: Proven experience in marketing within the consumer packaged goods industry, ideally with exposure to grocery or pharmacy sectors. Knowledge of health & beauty, over-the-counter (OTC), or licensed medicinal products is a plus.
Marketing Channel Knowledge: Strong understanding of media and distribution channels within the marketing landscape.
Education: Recognised marketing qualification (e.g., CIM) is required; a marketing degree is preferred.
Commercial & Financial Acumen: Solid understanding of financial and commercial principles to produce accurate forecasts, marketing plans, and client presentations.
Communication & Collaboration: Exceptional interpersonal skills, enabling effective communication with clients, colleagues, and agencies at all levels.
Autonomy & Initiative: Able to work independently, managing responsibilities proactively and with attention to detail to deliver high-quality results.
