Who are they:
Our client is a privately owned consultancy in the heart of London. They work on projects ranging up to £1bn on some of the country’s most forward thinking projects. Some of the projects include; commercial, leisure, heritage, healthcare, sports stadiums, residential, mixed-use and public sectors. Due to having their prestige reputation, clients tend to use them as a first point of call for some of the country’s most exciting upcoming schemes.
They encourage people who think outside the box and want to improve their careers through providing award-winning training schemes in order to stay ahead of their main competitors. Even though they are a fairly large organisation, they work in much smaller teams. This boosts collaboration and has meant staff turnover is low.
What are they looking for:
Currently, they are looking for a Senior looking to set up or an already Associate Quantity Surveyor to join them across a range of built environment projects including Hotel/ mixed-use, residential and student accommodation projects based in Edinburgh. These projects will be pre and post contract duties of large scale projects, and you may be trusted to manage whole section of these, therefore you must have excellent contract experience. You will also be in charge of managing and mentoring a team so any experience here is highly desirable. The partner on this project is looking for someone who is enthusiastic and keen to progress their career further. They need a safe pair of hands to help on the upcoming projects for the rest of this year/ the new year!
The client is ideally looking for:
- Previous consultancy experience (at least around 4/5 years)
- Exceptional pre and post contract experience
- MRICS
- Experience/ desire to manage large scale projects on your own- you may be in charge of subcontractors/ contractors/ designer
- Experience within the built environment
- PM experience is a benefit.
- Understanding of QS and different types of contracts
- Enthusiastic person who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and motivated to win business
- Ability to complete projects on time, within budget and to the clients expectations (or above!)
- Confident and client facing
- Relevant university degree
- Right to work in the UK
In return, our client is offering a basic salary of up to £65,000 per annum depending upon experience, plus a benefits package which includes over 30 days of annual leave a year.
