Purpose of the Role


You will be a trusted advisor guiding managers through key ER activities, supporting the recruitment and onboarding of new hires, building management capability through training and coaching practices, revising and applying policy best practice, supporting process improvements, contributing to various HR projects as well as, fostering a positive, supportive and high performing culture.


Key Responsibilities


  • Employee Relations: Provide comprehensive advice, guidance and practical support to Managers and employees regarding a range of employee relations issues including performance management, disciplinary & grievance matters and absence management. Draft and update HR policies and procedures to meet organisational and legislative requirements ensuring that they are implemented effectively through consultation and training.
  • Employee Engagement: Support the employee engagement plan and health and wellbeing focus days to increase engagement and address areas of concern.
  • Recruitment Activities: Partner with the Talent Acqusition Manager when required with selection activities such as interviewing and running assessment centres, agency management and sourcing candidates.
  • Learning and Development: Assist and coach managers in the assessment, development and performance management of employees ensuring that objectives are set and performance appraisals conducted for each employee. Work with Business Services Managers and act as the main point of contact for our trainee cohort in supporting them to adapt to the workplace
  • Reward: Oversee the production of monthly payroll ensuring accurate and support the annual pay review process to ensure accurate calculations and adoption of annual pay increases.
  • HR Administration: Take ownership for the HR Administration processes, guiding the HR Administrator in the efficient and accurate delivery of all HR Administration activities such as starter and leaver process and variations to contract.
  • Organisational Change: Support the Head of HR as we go through rapid growth by acquisition, support TUPE processes and administration to ensure legislative compliance and continued employee engagement.


Skills and experience:


Mentor: Demonstrable experience of challenging and influencing managers, providing advice and recommendations on all people related issues.

Sector Knowledge: In-depth understanding of working in a Professional Services (or Similar) environment.

Flexibility, ability to prioritise and work for multiple stakeholders, providing an outstanding service.

Engaging and adaptable with the ability to work within a changing environment and respond to different demands
