ROLE OVERVIEW

Join GRIDSERVE as a HSQE Director who will advise the Board and liaise with the core team to ensure compliance with legal requirements and companywide policies and procedures. The successful candidate will fully understand the requirements of ISO 45001, 14001 and 9001 as well as current, pertinent legislation and best practice, preferably with a knowledge of EV Charging & Renewables. Understanding of the wider reputational and business risk associated with a leading company with exceptional brand image and taking the lead in safeguarding the company, key stakeholders, and shareholders.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

· Overall responsibility for HSQE at GRIDSERVE including direction, strategic development, performance, maintenance and applicability.

· Drive continuous improvement within HSQE, including any changes to regulations impacting on company operations, and be a champion for best practice.

· Comply with all requirements, including statutory obligations, and represent the board during any audits or investigation from external agencies.

· Overall management of the HSQE Team including setting and monitoring objectives and targets, promoting continuous improvement, and identifying learning needs and growth opportunities.

· Be ethically responsible, promote appropriate behaviours fostering collaboration and mutual support to engender a positive companywide HSQE culture.

· Ensure all board members, senior management and employees are aware of their duties, responsibilities and are competent for their roles in relation to HSQE matters.

· Assistance with all other parts of the business as and when required including process and procedure.

· Ensure lessons learnt are communicated to the company stakeholders.

· Ensuring that the business, its partners, stakeholders and supply chain comply with the company’s Integrated Management System (IMS), relevant standards and legislation.

· Ensure that management systems provide effective monitoring and reporting procedures including annual management reviews in line with ISO clauses.

· Overall responsibility for HSQE budget.

· Review HSQE performance regularly for all company activities.

· As required, lead or direct prompt investigations into non-conformances, accidents, or incidents.

· Ensure that risk management systems for health, safety and the environment are in place, effective and significant risks escalated to board level.

· Assist with developing, implementing, monitoring, and managing a risk register.

· Liaise with HR on health and wellbeing issues, supporting both them and line managers in carrying out individual risk assessments as required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Required Experience

· HSQE Director with a good working knowledge in construction, operations, and maintenance.

· Developing and implementing management systems to ISO9001, 14001 & 45001 standards.

· Working within rapidly expanding national business.

· Stakeholder management and influencing at all levels including at Board.

· Ability to work on own initiative, lead and contribute to the wider team.
