Job Overview
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing high-impact projects within the retail sector. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including transport, warehouse and sales to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Your role will involve strategic planning, risk management, stakeholder communication, and performance monitoring to ensure project success and alignment with our business objectives.This role will report into the Divisional Operations Director.
Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution: Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex projects from inception to completion, ensuring all project goals are met.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including the client, senior management, department heads, and external partners. Facilitate clear and consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and guide project team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial targets are met and resources are allocated efficiently.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project objectives are not compromised.Ensure projects are managed and executed in a safe manner, always working to written safe working practices, and complying with client’s site safety guidelines.
- Performance Monitoring: Track project performance using appropriate tools and techniques, providing regular updates and reports to senior management.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement best practices in project management, continuously seeking ways to improve project processes and outcomes.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and quality delivery of project components.
- Site Management. Where appropriate be able manage the Lowe team on site and various Project Stakeholders at point of install, phasing and troubleshooting.
- Continuous Improvement. Work in a way that drives continuous improvement, always considering how we can do things better next time.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Significant experience of operating as a Project Manager in a fast-paced environment. Some experience of the retail sector would be ideal, but not essential.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale projects on time and within budget.
- CSCS Black card, or IOSH Managing Safely, or equivalent qualifications are preferred.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels of the organization. Able to communicate with clients and contractors in writing in a manner that supports Lowe’s commercial position.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
Candidate Considerations:
- This role will require a ‘hands on’ attitude to both project management and problem-solving.
- Candidates must be willing to travel across EU and UK when required.
- Occasional weekend or evenings work required where project touch points exist.
