Agent Preconstruction

BAM Nuttall are currently involved in a major nuclear new build project in the South West (Hinkley Point C, near Bridgwater in Somerset), delivering reinforced concrete structures, roads and complex multi network installations. Due to a growing workload, we now require an Agent to manage the pre-construction process within the Minor Civil Frameworks at HPC.

Your mission

As Agent, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Manage and oversee the pre-construction process for all scope of work within the Civil Framework at HPC. This includes planning, estimating, design deliverables, quality documentation and programme.
  • Liaise and maintain a close work relationship with the client to identify new opportunities and develop all work areas from pre-construction stage to delivery stage.
  • Liaise with quality department to ensure processes are in place for the preparation, review and briefing of all quality documents and procedures associated with new work areas.

  • Coordinate the design requirements for each work area with all parties involved including, Design Manager, Principal designer, Temporary Works Department and third party supplier/Manufacturers.
  • Ensuring realistic programmes are prepared, managed, monitored and reviewed prior to handover to delivery team.
  • Managing, supervising and mentoring the project team as appropriate.

Who are we looking for?

Essential:

  • Prior experience in Civil Construction Engineering at Sub Agent / Agent Level
  • High level of IT skills including Microsoft 365, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in highly regulated environments
  • Good knowledge of digital engineering software ( Autocad, Civil 3D, Naviswork)

Desirable:

  • Previous experience with software-based quality system (Dalux or similar)
  • Knowledge of Civil Engineering or Academic qualification sufficient to attain Chartered member level of ICE.
  • Previous experience in Temporary Works (TWC and/or TWD)
