The Compleat Food Group (TCFG) is seeking a dynamic Retail Operations Controller, to lead and manage our Food Service Retail Operations. In this newly created pivotal role, you will shape the strategic vision and drive success across Van Sales, Retail Outlets (shops), Vending, and Franchise Operations, ensuring sustainable growth, profitability, and above all customer satisfaction.

About the Role
As Retail Operations Controller, you will be responsible for driving the strategic vision and operational excellence of our Food Service Retail Operations. Your leadership will propel the success of our Van Sales, Vending, Retail Outlets, and Franchise Operations, ensuring alignment with company goals of growth, innovation, and customer satisfaction. You will play a key role in expanding our retail footprint and franchise network, while also ensuring that employees and franchisees have the tools, support, and development opportunities to excel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive 3-5 year growth plan for all functions. Identify and secure new opportunities to expand our food service network, increase franchise & retail outlets, and enhance our business offerings.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Working with the Resourcing team ensure a robust recruitment and on boarding strategy for employees and franchisees, ensuring alignment with TCFGs inclusive culture and growth objectives.
- Operational Excellence: Implement best practices and continuous improvements to ensure operational efficiency, quality standards, and customer satisfaction. Oversee the performance of all retail locations, vending installs, and franchise operations.
- Support & Development: Provide ongoing guidance and training to teams and franchisees, equipping them to succeed and contribute to the businesss long-term goals.
- Financial Management: Monitor and optimise financial performance across all business units, ensuring the achievement of profitability and growth targets.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, franchisees, and suppliers, fostering open communication and collaborative problem-solving.
Who Were Looking For:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience in retail operations management, with expertise in multi-site management and franchise operations.
- Experience in at least two of the following: Van Sales, Vending, Retail Shops, or Franchise Operations Management.
- A track record of franchise recruitment, on boarding, and franchise expansion.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop large teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
- A solid understanding of financial management and performance metrics.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent (MBA preferred).
- A UK driving license and willingness to travel frequently.
